Individuals and communities who have suffered losses as a result of catastrophes such as floods, hurricanes, earthquakes, drought, tornadoes, and riots are eligible for disaster relief funds or services.

Education is not a luxury. The right to education is a human right that is legally guaranteed to all people without discrimination. One of the most powerful instruments for eradicating extreme poverty is education.

Let us lend a hand to those who do not have access to food. Make it a goal to provide nutritional meals to hungry elderly people living on the streets.

Our lives have been drastically altered as a result of the Covid – 19 pandemic. The goal is to help in the fight against COVID-19 in the state by giving medical assistance and other forms of relief.

SOME NOBLE WORK BY CANVAS

Distribution of Cloths, Saree & Lungi

On October 14, 2023, Canvas, a non-governmental organization (NGO) committed to humanitarian causes, undertook a commendable initiative in Binpur, Jhargram state. Demonstrating unwavering dedication to improving the lives of the less fortunate, Canvas organized a clothing distribution event, providing essential garments such as clothes, sarees, and lungis to the impoverished community.

 

Distribution of BLANKET/ SHAWL

“Canvas” has organised an event on 15th January, 2023 to distribute the winter clothes and blankets for the underprivileged people of Beldiha in Hooghly district. The event was organised with the association of Ramakrishna Mission. A team of 17 from “Canvas” were present at the event for this social cause.

Donation of ICU System

On behalf of Canvas, distribution of one piece five-parameter patient monitoring system for I.C.U., one piece fowler deluxe bed with mattress and one piece patient locker at Swadesh Basu Hospital

Relief Materials

In collaboration with ‘Ramakrishna Vedanta Ashram’, ‘Parnasree Columbia Club’ and Nari in Saree’, “Canvas” has organised relief program for 250 families in Daspur, a marginal village of G-Plot in Patharpratima area of ​​Sundarbans which was affected by “Yaas” cyclone.

Ichchepuran Utsav

Ichchepuran Utsav 2021 was held on 30th November at Ramhripur Ramakrishna Mission (Bankura) on the initiative of Canvas. During the festive season, new clothes are handed over to 500 children from marginalized families till the age of 12. We think the festival is for everyone, so we want to see the smiling faces of all the children. Many thanks to all the well wishers and all those who always help us.

Helping The Elderly

A family member of an aged lady who was bedridden and suffering from Spina Bifida, a resident of Ward No. 129 of Behala, called us and asked for help. The member seeked help from us so that we could arrange an ambulance for medical examination and MRI for the lady. Our volunteers Mrityunjay Chatterjee, Surya Sendas, Khokon Santra took the patient down from the second floor of the flat on a stretcher and took him to the doctor in an ambulance. Post medical examination we brought her back home.

“Janta Hesel” For Covid Affected Families

An initiative had been taken by “Canvas” and “Parnasree Columbia Club” to help the Covid affected families by distribution of meals for lunch and dinner for 21 days at completely free of cost. This was done in the name of “Janta Hesel”. Apart from this, distribution of Pulse Oximeters, medicines and other essential items were also part of the initiative.

Helping Marginalised Children & Women

On 26th & 27th January 2021, an initiative by “Canvas” associated with “Ramkrishna Vedanta Ashram”, clothes, sarees and sanitary napkins were distributed among 500 marginalized children and women in 4 indigenous villages (Boso, Belmuri, Kanui Baka, West Shitki) of Hooghly district.

Kolkata Phool Mela

On the occasion of “Kolkata Phool Mela”, organised by Govt. of West Bengal, a stall had been set up by “Canvas”. An amount of Rs. 15,000/- had been donated by the organisation “Nari in Saree” to “Canvas” at the stall. Our heartfelt gratitude to them.

New Clothes Distribution For Durga Puja

In the festival of “Icche Puran” we are in “Barasat Spandan Ashram” to distribute new clothes among the children on the occasion of Durga Puja. In collaboration with Lockgate Peace Association and Rasbihari Novel Society, Pujo’s new shirt was handed over to the little children of Chetla Lockgate slum area on Maha Panchami.

Collaboration With “Max Wall of Kindness”

The “Canvas Ichche Puran Utsav”, 2019 has started in collaboration with ‘Max Wall of Kindness’ and ‘Brand to people integrated solutions’.

Free Eye Check-Up Camp

With the initiative of “Canvas”, a free eye check up camp has been organised at ‘Bracebridge Pally Unnayan Samiti Bhawan’ on 24th June, 2018. We had distributed glasses among 74 needy people at the camp. 

Distribution Of Study Materials

On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Kavi Najrul Islam, “Canvas” had organised the distribution of study materials to the children of a slum adjacent to the Bracebridge station.
